Very thin skin or skin massively distended by very large weight gains, will retract
poorly and maintain a residual laxity. Patients will seek correction if, despite a healthy life style and a well controlled weight, the abdominal skin remains loose and the waist line larger. Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty will tighten the muscles, reduce the laxity, the excess skin and the waist. The procedure can be done in conjunction with a liposuction of the upper abdominal region and the flanks, which will further define the waist. If desired, the fat can be transferred on the breast or on the buttocks ( as in the Brazilian butt lift)
